Member of the Week

Linda Burgess and Richard Shaffer joined the Council in November 2011 after moving to Dallas. They believe strongly in the Council’s mission to bring international awareness to the community and have already become frequent attendees to Council events and two of our biggest supporters. Both are well-informed, interested in international affairs and always have something to add to the conversation. Richard is a writer and spent his career as a columnist for The Wall Street Journal and Forbes magazine, to name a few. Thank you for being members and, more importantly, new friends!

Member of the Week

Roland Freeman became a member of the World Affairs Council in 2003 after attending a program with then-National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice. Over the past nine years, Roland has attended more than 180 events! He enjoys seeing former speakers on TV that he’s had the opportunity of meeting through the Council. Roland doesn’t just support the Council, he also supports the speakers by often purchasing their books at events. Always with a big smile on his face, Roland is our biggest fan and we are his. Thanks for being such a loyal member, Roland!
